...I saw a difference in my face early on too but the real shocker came a few minutes ago!  My 16 year old daughter went to Florida with a friend the same day I started the challenge. I just went and picked her up.

She said I looked really good, that my skin looks like water. It sounds funny but I know exactly what she means, I've seen other ladies with that look and always envied them.

Thank you Tera for being such a class act and giving us so much support, information and inspiration! You really are a bright spot, I loved getting your emails every day too!

It is amazing what can change in one week. My intentions are clear, my skin is radiant, I've lost a couple of pounds, and I am in the best shape of my life (loving hot yoga!). Green smoothies weren't the only thing that made all of this happen, but this challenge was the extra push I needed to get on the right track. I am living the life, my dream lifestyle is in focus, and I am going for it! Watch out world, here I come!

I feel so amazing inside, like my insides are filled with sparkles! I know that sounds cheezy, but that's how it feels! My light is shining bright!

~ Amanda~

I feel a bit of a glow, I feel more alive. I feel brighter. I want more real food and not the stuff called food that's really some sort of chemistry experiment.

~Sarai~

My skin is finally starting to look healthier and clearer. I have really dry, extremely sensitive skin. My face is the most sensitive and so far all of the dermatologists remedies for my face have only made my skin worse, drier and more irritated. With all of the healthy greens, vegies and fruit I've added to my diet I think my skin is finally starting to feel some relief. I discontinued all of my prescriptions and have been using Jojoba oil, vitamin E oil and Calendula ointment instead. That with diet all seems to be working. So far no bad reactions and my skin is finally starting to feel some relief! The redness is almost gone and and the dryness is starting to clear.

My moods are better and my stress level seems to feel a little lower. I seem to have a little more energy in the morning recently and let me tell you I am not a morning person, AT ALL! But this morning, getting up for my Saturday morning Step class was exciting! I had a pep in my step that isn't normally there. I used to need coffee to feel awake and with it in the AM but not with green smoothies and raw foods it seems.

~Amber~

My skin looks and feels amazing - I live in the desert, where the humidity is often in single digits. I am 38 and have spent a lifetime in the sun. And I have really been feeling my age the last few months. My exercise of choice is Master's swimming which includes lots of exposure to sun and chlorine. I'm a redhead and naturally have very dry skin and freckled complexion. I cannot believe the difference only 1 week has made. My skin is soft, glowing, and I can't actually see the wrinkles at the corner of my eyes anymore. People want to know who my facialist is. This has been an incredible motivator to keep up the green smoothie habit.

~Kerry~

I also loved this challenge. My skin has changed dramatically. My daughter told me recently, that my skin, all over, just seems to have a "glow". She just wanted to 'touch' it. My face is clearer and brighter.

Near the end of the week of this challenge, my husband told me he wasn't sure he wanted me to go anywhere "in public" without him! He wasn't sure he wanted other men to be noticing his wife. Now, what a compliment for a 50-yr. old woman! I am not thinking that any other guy would be looking at "me", but boy! my DH hubby sure was.

All the extra nutrition from the green smoothies really helped give me the energy I was looking for. I teach special ed all day and then run the after school program, so I have very long days. Since starting green smoothies regularly (1 or 2 every day since the beginning of the challenge), I find that I rather than just supervising the kids during aftercare, I'm out there playing tag or kickball with them. It makes my job so much more fun to have the stamina to really play with the kids. I also find that my mind is clearer and I have more creativity, which is a big plus for finding new ways to reach my students.

I lost 6 pounds, my joint pain is much less and was full and not hungry with green smoothies. I learned I have an issue with gluten. I feel refreshed. I know that sounds weird but it is true. Wow! I learned a ton.

The Ripple-Maker Award And The Big Red Blendtec Love Machine!

By Tera Warner and Alejandra Hernando

We asked you to host an event that would make a difference in your community. We asked that there be an educational component, and that you have people trying Green Smoothies. And we wanted this blender to go to the person who made the biggest ripple, or impact on her community. We'd lik to present you the winner of our Ripple-Maker Award. Take the time to read this story and get inspired about what you can do to make a difference out there!

Hi Tera! I just wanted to tell you a little bit of what has been going on since I started the green smoothie challenge.

It started great because it`s been a year on almost 100% raw (we just eat something cooked like corn tortillas, beans or rice every 3 or 4 weeks) so we are very high raw and I cannot see myself eating any other way. So the green smoothie challenge was sort of my birthday present for raw food, but everything got going in such a way I cannot explain. I just found myself making lots of different smoothies, taking pictures of each one, taking pictures of my daughter drinking them, started uploading recipes, and I just found myself totally excited about everything and then you say that you were going to give away a blender. I had to have my blender so my excitedness was so great that I just had to have my blender.

school-6You wanted us to make a ripple effect on others... hey Tera what you are doing is making the waves roll in over here, not just a ripple. You are good at doing what you do! You really got me moving. At first, I really wanted my blender and my mind was thinking about what to do to get people into green smoothies and where I was going to go and give demonstrations, and somewhere in between, everything started to move. The universe started to make things go so fast I haven't had time to stop. I am like a little machine working non stop. And it is because I can't stop now.

I just started a website which is just commng up tommorrow, I hope. The first site in Mexico about green smoothies and I launched a campaign to increase the intake of raw organic fruits and vegetables in the diet of children, youth, adults and the elder through the use of green smoothies. I have my first talk and demo in a school tomorrow morning. Ohhhhhh, I can't believe this is happening. People just keep on saying what a great campaign, and how great it is that I am trying to improve my community's health.

school-8My daughter is so happy that we are going to go to teach other kids how she eats and that makes me really happy. And guess what, the blender isn't important anymore. I know and feel that god has something very good and of higher value here and I am going to continue doing what I have to do. Thanks a lot for making a ripple effect and I hope to achieve the same in the years to come. I don`t know who you are, but I can feel the goodness in your heart and I guess god puts us in the right place when the time is right. You have been an example of keeping true to yourself and I would love to be able to meet you someday. I don't know what`s going to happen with the web page but I even made a recipe book with the recipes I made from the green smoothie challenge and wrote some of the benefits of greens. This is going to be a downloadable free ebook in spanish, the first one of its kind. I'm even considering starting a raw food class on Saturdays, because on weekdays I will be doing the campaign in schools, hospitals and any place that wants me to give a little greensmoothie demo.

...I am a stay at home mom, because of the allergies of my daughter, homeschooling her, living with only one budget in Mexico (that`s why I thought about the blender in the first place, this babies cost $10,000 mexican pesos which was about $1,000 usd when the dollar was at 11 pesos, but now at 15 pesos it`s impossible).

Thanks for your e-mails, your work, and even if somethimes you think you are not making the world a better place, just think again. My life has change for the better and I hope to be doing the same for others.

In hope of someday meeting you,

Alejandra Hernando
